Tirana, Albania

During last week ALDA held Steering Committee on project “Microcredit scheme for young entrepreneurs in SEE”. Steering Committee took place in Tirana form 15 to 17th of July, and LDA Subotica representatives were in this meeting. Besides LDA and ALDA representatives, on this meeting Banca Intesa Sanpaolo with Banca Intesa Belgrade, Privredna Banka Zagreb and Banca Intesa Albania had their representatives.

All together, members of the Project Board were discussed issues on microcredit activities for 2009 and 2010. Also, most important subject of the meeting was continuation of the project activities in Serbia and opening project scheme in Albania. Board members were divided in groups created by countries, were they have determined the objectives and opportunities for current and perspectives for the next years of crediting.

After two days of discussions, general conclusion is that microcredit scheme still represents solid financial product for these countries. Bank representatives from Intesa Sanpaolo are expecting project continuation by the end of September 2010 when resources will be available for potential borrowers in Serbia. After reopening, potential borrowers in Serbia will have opportunity to apply on this loan in a one year period, or to the closure of the credit line.
